During my holiday at the Belgian coast this summer I was completely knocked out by a blocked neck and shoulder. Horrible. Luckily for me there was Philippe Lanckriet, a chiropractor practicing in Bruges who relieved me from the worst aches 3 sessions.
After discussing some of my ongoing (minor) health problems he advised me to follow an Energy Control Diet. As from tomorrow I will be eating and drinking sugar free, carb free, gluten free, dairy free…to regain control of my normal energy levels. After these three weeks you can slowly restart eating carbs and (non-processed) sugar.
What does this mean in reality? Al lot of veggies and fruit, meat, fish, nuts but no grains, potatoes, sugar. Also alcohol, dairy products, soy products, sparkling water and caffeine are to be avoided at all time…
.
After a month in Knokke with a lot of aperitifs, dining out and to little rest this is the ideal moment to start such a diet and to detox a little although this is not the right word for my September Challenge, it is more like allowing my body to rest.
I honestly think it won’t be hard as far as the food is concerned. With the drinking I will have more problems I guess…no more diet coke, sparkling water, white wine and soy latte…difficult! Also breakfast will be a hard one because gluten free pancakes and waffles won’t do for this challenge.
For lunch I will need to bring my own salads or soups, which I do most of the time already. I will share some of my recipes online and hope you will support me the coming weeks.
As a reward we have a great luncheon planned at Hertog Jan. Not bad after three weeks of September Challenge what do you think?
