A while ago I was contacted by Magimix asking me if I would be interested to try out their Patissier foodprocessor.
When the box arrived I was stunned, it was huge! My first thought was: “Where am I going to store this?” You must know my kitchen counter is quite full these days with a blender, water cooker, waffle iron, coffee machine and kitchen robot. No to speak of all the accessories for above mentioned appliances.
But no worries, there was still some space left on the kitchen counter so I decided to open the box right a way.
The Patissier is delivered with a lot of accessories such as:
– mixing bowls
– knives
– citrus press
– a spatula
– a box to put this all away
-…
In fact the Patissier can replace a lot of your standard kitchen appliances but you still need space to store it all.
What is remarkable about the Patissier is that it only has 3 buttons: stop, auto and pulse. The auto button is in fact your ‘on’ button, stop speaks for its self I suppose and pulse is when you don’t want the machine to work continuously. The machine adapts its speed and force depending on the preparation.
Now what can you actually do with this machine?
It kneads dough, grates vegetables, squeezes citrus fruits, whisks egg whites, mixes soups, chops nuts or other ingredients, makes a perfect whipped cream, slices fruits and vegetables….as a matter of fact you name it and the Patissier nearly know how to do it all.
I think the machine is very user friendly (although some washing up is needed after every use) and is multi-functional as the name says. The Patissier makes not so much noise and works really fast.
For me the downsize is in fact the size and all the accessories. You need space to store it all.
The price is on the higher side, but remember you will no longer need your separate kitchen tools such as a mixer, a citrus press, a juicer…
Now Magimix has come up with three great pastel colors (limited editions): pink, pistache and vanilla. I must say the pistache one would look great in the kitchen of our new seaside apartment (hint hint..).
I prepared cookies, cake and quiche dough as well as some great juices.

I used Magimixes pictures because for some dark reason all my pictures of the Magimix Patissier are gone…haunted phone?
