We used to have an annual lunch date at Oud Sluis with some friends, but since Sergio Herman closed shop we moved on to Pure C. Last year we have had a delicious lunch there but this years lunch date was not possible in Pure C so we opted to try out a new restaurant.
We chose La Trinité in Sluis. What a great discovery. A beautiful and peaceful terrace, a cozy interior and service with a smile. Oh yes, I almost forgot the food…this was really delicious. Light and interesting combinations, beautiful presentation and a nice surprise for dessert.
We opted for the lunch menu: 3 courses for 45€, if you like assorted wines add 15€.
We started with a glass of champagne and some delicious bites such as:
For starters we had a king crab croquette with grilled avocado and zuchinni, Mr Husband got a king crab salad. this was an additional course (+ 13€) but so worth it. Like the best ‘kroket’ ever!
After the croquette we moved to the official starter: escargots with French mushrooms. I am not really into escargots – snails remember- but it was ok.
Then we had summer flounder with truffles and asparagus. Once more a dish full of taste but very light and fresh.
Desert was a combination of fennel and apple.
Very fresh but too little to my taste. This was so good, I could have eaten a second serving. Luckily for us the chef had a surprise in the kitchen. Since we are at the coast, La Trinité offers its clients home made ‘Boule de Berlin’ with the coffee. What a nice treat!
La Trinité, an address to remember!
