Epcot at Disney World

Epcot…..

Den Bol

Den Bol

This is my favorite park in Disney World and not only for sentimental reasons.

I admit that every time  I see Spaceship Earth or ‘den bol’ as we call it in our family, I still get a whee feeling inside since it was my daddy’s favorite Disney Attraction and he had a picture of it on his desk for as long as I can remember. But enough of the trip down memory lane.

Ecpot is a really nice park, but I think it is more of an adult park. You have a lot of things to see and some attractions but we have only visited Spaceship earth where you get a lesson in the history of communication.

Spaceship Earth

Spaceship Earth

What is truly beautiful in Epcot is World Showcase. A lake surrounded by pavilions of countries like France, Mexico, Canada, China, Italy, the USA and Japan. Every pavilion offers you a view of the countries typical architecture and cuisine. In the past we have eaten a great pizza accompanied by a Barolo in the Italian pavilion as well as some nice sushi and sake in the Japanese pavilion.

Illuminations

Illuminations

Some of the pavilions have a  show, some of them even offer  attractions like the 3 Caballeros ride in Mexico and the soon to be opened Frozen attraction in Norway. But the food is the most important thing in Epcot. Here no hamburgers and fries but French fries and canard à l’orange or a nice tajine or some venison stew or even better fresh sushi. Do you see now why I like this park so much?

Be sure to plan your visit at night so you can enjoy the Illuminations firework and laser show.

TIP: If you book a table at the Tokyo Sushi you can watch the show from their private terrace during your dinner. Perfect spot to watch this great show!

There are more attractions at Epcot such as Captain Eo, Innoventions and Living with the land, but the main attraction is Spaceship Earth and World Showcase.
