The first week of the #septemberchallenge is over and I must admit I feel well.
The first days I have felt kind of tired and drained from enery but this might have been due to the blocage in my neck and shoulders and the headaches this has given me the past week. I can hardly imagine that the tiredness is due to the #septemberchallenge. If you look at what I have been eating the past week it is hard to imagine you wouldn’t be energised.
The hardest moments to come by were the little cravings, because as you all now once you can’t have anything all you want is exactly that thing, or is it just me?
When the kids were eating little letter cookies this week I was really tempted to have one but I have stayed strong, but since that moment I carry a little bag of roasted nuts to cater my little cravings. I have only sinned once and it was last night…I drank …oh my god, I really did… I drank sparkling water. Mea culpa! But it was so good!
Those who follow me on Instagram will see I have regularly shared a picture of breakfast. For me it was the hardest meal of the day to have without carbs and sugar. As from week 3 outmeal is back allowed so that will make breakfast a lot easier.
I have prepared smoothies with mango and coconut milk (you can compare this to the smoothie with raspberries I have made this summer), some nana icecream and a lot of quinoa granola..
For lunch I’ve had vitello tonato, tuna fennelsalad, and a combination of zuchini fritters and quinoa cookies, bresaola with extra vergine olive oil, fleur de sel and lime juice and fennel soup.
For dinner we have had an omelet, frittata with smoked salmon and leeks, a stuffed portobello with polenta and meatballs in tomato sauce. Yummie!
Last night we even had a dinner party with guests…no problem: zuchini with parma for starters, fennel soup and a nice piece of Limousin beef with roasted sweet potato.
Off to the rest of the month!
